Install and setup virtualbox on kali linux 2016.3

Download virtual box for your debian from here if you running kali linux 2016.3 then download this debian file,

Go to download directory

install it by typing:
“dpkg -i filename.deb”

it will install virtual box on your system.

if you get error like this:

 

The following packages have unmet dependencies:

libvpx Depends: libvpx (>= 1.0~)but it is not going to be installed

 

then download package from debian package website, install them and retry to installing virtualbox.

it will successfully install virtual box on your system.

Update:

if you successfully installed virtual box and get this error while on start up;

WARNING: The character device /dev/vboxdrv does not exist.
Please install the virtualbox-dkms package and the appropriate
headers, most likely linux-headers-amd64.

You will not be able to start VMs until this problem is fixed.

then it means your linux header is missing, update whole your system by running this.

apt-get update 
apt-get -y dist-upgrade 
# this will take much time, but your every app will upgrade.
                        
reboot 
# IMPORTANT STEP! 

it solve your all problems.
